Education of young people with the cultural heritage of Tirana

This project will be developed from January to June. DMO Albania, having on focus activities that educate young generations with issues of the cultural and historical heritage of Tirana, has initiated the organization of a cycle of open lectures for high school students of Tirana on the material and spiritual cultural heritage of Tirana and its surroundings. The Academy of Albanian Studies will activate its best lecturers and experts in the field of archaeology, architecture and spiritual heritage to carry out this educational program. This project aims to increase the familiarity of the youth of Tirana with the cultural and historical heritage of Tirana that strengthens their identity as citizens of Tirana. At the same time, the study of heritage is related to roots, the past and traditions. The better this heritage is known, the more educated and capable our young generation will easily face the challenges presented by the present and the future.

The project “Education of young people with the cultural heritage of Tirana” is a project implemented by DMO ALBANIA in cooperation with the Academy of Albanian Studies and the Institute of Archeology and is financed by the Municipality of Tirana. The aim of the project is to increase the familiarity of Tirana’s youth with the cultural and historical heritage of Tirana and to strengthen their identity as citizens of Tirana. A series of lectures are held with Tirana high school students to get to know the 6 most important periods of the city’s history, from antiquity to the architecture of the 20th century. The students will hold an open lecture in the premises of the Academy of Albanological Studies and will visit the Archaeological Museum. The lecturers are the best experts in archeology and Albanian studies: Dr. Melsi Labi, Dr. Nevila Molla, Dr. Sabina Veseli, Dr. Edlira Andoni, Dr. Belisa Muka. Lectures take place from June 1-9, 2023.
